At MACH 2008, Roemheld will be demonstrating how Hilma 5-axis vices can safely grip titanium for machining on just 3mm rather than the traditional 20mm. Visitors to Roemheld stand 4210 in Hall 4 will be able to see how this increases work throughput while dramatically reducing material wastage and handling.
For visitors who are not looking for 5-axis functionality, the Aluminium range of double clamping vices from System Bock, offers durable, double clamping capabilities for traditional vertical machining applications.
Exciting new product ranges will be also be exhibited by Roemheld for the first time in the UK. These will include five new swing clamp designs, new bore clamps, coupling elements, sequence valves and high pressure filters. A working model of small rotary tables, from FTW, another member of the Roemheld Group, will also be on display for the first time in the UK.
The stand will extensively feature the Roemheld product range of core products. This will include the low-cost Matrix sets, designed to help make the introduction of hydraulic clamping viable for small companies. In addition, Roemheld will be exhibiting the benefits of Stark zero point mounting systems which combine reduced set-up times with increased repeatability and productivity. These can be either air or hydraulically operated to meet the varied demands of an ever changing marketplace and customer base.
Visitors to the stand will also see how the computer programmable, compact Kostyrka sleeves exert extremely high holding forces and can clamp and unclamp at lightning speed.
The emerging use of 3D models in fixture design and capability will also be a
focus, with many examples of this technology on show.

The chance to see the company’s latest range of 5-axis vices proved a great draw for Formula One visitors to the Roemheld stand at Autosport 2008.
Bill Neal, Managing Director of Roemheld (UK), said: “We had a very successful Autosport which resulted in a number of very positive enquiries across our workholding range, but in particular with regard to our 5-axis solutions.”

The original Kostyrka clamping sleeve continues to dominate the European mechanical engineering market as it offers a made-to-order fit for every application and lasting reliability and repeatability so it can simply be installed and then forgotten.
Only available in the UK from Roemheld, the Kostyrka clamping sleeve operates on a very simple clamping principle utilising flexible bushes made from a metal-plastic composite. These are axially held in housings that surround the part, and then clamp it, by applying oil pressure to the sleeve jacket. The oil pressure is converted without any loss or reaction into a radially acting force which clamps without affecting the piece. The sleeves spring back to their starting position once the oil pressure is removed. This enables these computer programmable, compact sleeves to exert extremely high holding forces and to clamp and unclamp at lightning speed.Kostyrka clamping sleeves are available with an inner diameter from 6mm to 1500mm+ and are designed for clamping forces up to 600 bar. As they are specially made, they can be adapted to any installation space and are available in a wide range of versions for absorbing the different torques generated by linear, rotary, axial and tangential clamping forces.
