Roemheld launched a new generation of magnetic rapid clamping systems at K2013. It was just one of the innovations on show on the Roemheld stand aimed at maximising productivity levels and increasing throughput in plastics and rubber processing operations.
Visitors to the stand could find out how the new magnetic clamping plates provide more power and precision in workholding applications allowing tools and dies of any size and shape to be clamped quickly, safely and accurately. The system offers four different pole configurations has has been designed to accelerate and facilitate the tool and die changing process. Roemheld rapid-clamping systems can be used in many different applications in plastics processing and at temperatures up to 240 °C. The plates can be easily installed or retrofitted on both vertical and horizontal injection moulding machines, in rubber processing and for polyurethane coating.
In addition, Roemheld exhibited a new magnetic plate control unit, which, in combination with a new force sensor, can both display the clamping forces being applied to the magnetic clamping plate and transmit this data to a smart phone or tablet PC. An optional acoustic signal is also available for an additional monitoring function.
K2013 also saw the company launch a new transport cart for tools and dies at the show. This can move a payload of up to 500 kg and features an automatic docking device.
